The Treaty of Eden was signed between Great Britain and France in 1786. It was named after Lord Eden, the British negotiator, and was designed to end the economic war between the two countries.

My fictitious character Jean Coignart attended the same military schools as Napoleon: the Royal Military School at Brienne-le-Chateau and the Ecolé Militaire.
