Bow of the boat. The bows of a catamaran are the front portions of each hull, tapered to a thin vee to slice water aside. Running across the cat’s beam (or width) between the bows, is the bow-beam to which the forestay is bolted in the center.

Here is a photograph of the port bow of a Catana 471 under construction (it happens to be my own boat!).
